Contact Closure Card
The Contact Closure Card (AS/400 interface) allows current model UPS systems to function with legacy computer hardware as well as other devices. It not only provides the UPS the ability to shutdown an AS/400 system using standard contact closure communications, it also contains actual relays that provide the UPS with the added ability to send 120 volt power to start up an external device like an alarm siren or lighting system in the event of a power failure. With this connection a UPS has the power to control virtually any device manageable by relay-closures for special environments and applications.
