Many of our customers are choosing to extend their power back-up runtimes by adding external battery packs to their Minuteman UPSs. This provides further assurance that applications can be operational, even through lengthy power outages. Minuteman has responded to our customers' requirements by pushing the envelope on extended runtime technologies and offering solutions that are unique to the power protection market. To protect critical devices through extended blackouts, the Endeavor and EnterprisePlus UPS Series are able to utilize the XL and EXL Series of external battery packs that can be daisy-chained to provide virtually an unlimited amount of battery runtime.

Standard XL Battery Pack
Minuteman XL Standard Battery Packs have internal chargers. The XL Series have lower VAh ratings, but offer quick recharge times because of the internal independent chargers.
Extended EXL Runtime Battery Pack
The EXL Series of battery packs provide longer runtimes than the standard XL battery packs due to their higher VAh
ratings. The EXL series does not have internal chargers in the connected UPS. However you can use a combination of
XL and EXL battery packs to reduce the recharge time of the EXL battery packs while providing a more flexible runtime
solution.
(Example: your application requires 2 hours of runtime and the EXL battery pack selected only provides 1.5 hours of runtime.
Instead of using two EXL battery packs, which will provide three hours of runtime, you can use the EXL along with an XL
battery pack to provide the other 0.5 hours of runtime. This flexible solution not only saves you money, but also speeds up
the recharge time of the EXL battery packs.
