I have an Enterprise E1100, and I plugged a standard RS232 serial cable between the UPS and a COMM port. The output of the UPS completely shut down as long as it was connected. Yes this caused servers to crash :(
Am I wrong in assuming a regular serial cable will work? I searched the website for this serial cable:
"1. Locate the UPS interface cable that was provided with SentryII, or the UPS. (Part # 35000003)"
But wasn't able to find it. The manual does not say NOT to use a standard serial cable.
Please let me know what to do next.
Thanks!

You can use a null modem cable.
Pin one is almost like a EPO emergency power off switch. Except it is not a true EPO, it only shuts down the output not the entire UPS.
