| Does Minuteman have any simple s/w (or source code example) that one can install on multiple machines to act on traps sent by the netcard attached to the ups unit? |

Fischershaw,
You will need an Network Management System (NMS) such as Open View in order to receive a trap from the SNMP card. Inside the NMS you can run a script to shut down the PC. The SNMP card does not have the capability to shut down the PC by itself.

We use Plixer's Logalot to do this, as well as shut down Network ports that reach thresholds too high based on Broadcast or Error rates.
