AT800/2 model - information?

Im a electrical engineering student and i've received one at800/2 old minuteman ups as a gift. It has still working parts and i think one main transistor mounted on a black huge disipator ist leaking or falling.
The serial nr is 252061 and the batteries are the CSB GP1240 (4 of them)
I dont know where can I search information such as schematics, or the common fails to start testing it. Thanks you a lot, and excuse my english. (im not american).
