I plan to use my UPS only occasionally - when power outages are likely.
Which will help the batteries to last longer?
When not using it, let it sit charged up but unconnected to AC outlet (let it gradually discharge)
or deliberately discharge it before storing by running just the monitor on it until it quits?
Also, will it help batteries to last longer if it is charged up and used regularly
(like once a month)? |

ET,
A UPS is designed to run all of the time. This will be when you get the maximum life out of the batteries. If batteries are stored they will discharge below the optimal voltage for recharge and this will shorted the life of the battery considerably.
