I recently came across a never used Enterprise E 1500 UPS in one of our site's IDFs. Best as I can tell, it's been sitting for about five years. I, of course, replaced the old batteries. (The replacement batteries are 12V/7.5Ah rather than 12V/7.2Ah.)

The SecurityPlus Monitor software indicates that the UPS is healthy--there's a green button next to "UPS Health" on the Main window.

However, there are issues:

(1) When I physically power the UPS on, it beeps continuously and the "Fault LED" goes solid red. Additionally, the following two messages immediately appear: (1) "Power failed! The UPS is operating on battery power.", and (2) "UPS fault!"

When I turn the UPS off, the message "Power restored! The utility power restored." appears.

(2) It appears that the batteries aren't charging. The "Battery Level" on the main window has been fluctuating between 57% and 59% since I replaced the batteries. That was over an hour ago.

(3) When I view the "Diagram" window in SentryPlus Monitor, there is no line between "AC Input" and "Battery." I don't know if this is normal or if it indicates a problem, though.

(4) The "Input Frequency" meter is red; its value is 60Hz. I don't know if this is a problem or not.

Is there any hope for this thing, or is it kaputski?

Thanks.

That unit has to come in for repair. The number you can call for a
RMA is 800-238-7272 x 224 or 206.
