I've got a client with a Pro 650 with the batt. light on. I replaced the battery but the light won't go off. when it powers on it beeps 5 times and then the batt light stays on solid. I double checked the connection and it's fine. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Is this an internal problem with the UPS not charging the battery?
Thanks in advance!

Mikec123,
Good morning,
The Pro650 is not recognizing the battery voltage. I would think you would get a fault light if charger is bad.
If you have a volt meter please set your meter on DC voltage to perform this test.
1. Disconnect the positive lead from the battery.
2. Place your red lead from your voltmeter to the disconnected positive terminal.
3. Place the black lead on the negative wire.
What is the voltage?
You are looking for 13.7 DC,if zero then charger failure has occurred.
If you do not have a volt meter we can diagoise the problem here in our shop for $40.00.
Now I have a couple of ways we can work this out.
We have a flat rate repair charge of $112.00.
90 day warranty.
This includes board replacment, battery replacement.
If you purchased battery from us we will discount battery price off of the flat rate.
We then have a trade-in program if you are not interested in sending back for repair.
Pro700 E trade-in price we will negotiate price when you call in.
You do not need to send unit back in just a serial number from the back of unit will be fine.
My number 1-800-238-7272 ext. ED224 or Jeff 206
Jeff

Thanks for the info. I'll be on-site next week and I'll test it. I'll follow up and let you know if I need the trade-in pricing info.
Thanks! |
