um. does the web interface really work? I have followed all the setup instructions maticulously, but never was able to complete the fully ethernet option. So, then I went the USB method. That worked, and confirmed that the IP address that I tried to set with ARP did not take. I set the IP, mask, DNS, went through the save and reboot process, all fine.

Now when I browse to the IP address, I usually get a proper-looking login dialog. Then I also get a request to download or run a program called "devtect.exe c"... Whichever I choose (save, open, cancel) I never get anywhere. Sometimes it pops up another prompt for me to log in, and after I do, I get an error message:

Server error
Server redirected request to invalid URL.
Download stopped. http:///isw_menu.sht/0

HHHEEEEEELLLP...

Notes: USB interface still works, and shows info I saved earlier. Telnet interface works, and allows me to log in and things seem to behave themselves. I have rebooted several times, on a couple of occasions leaving it unplugged for several minutes.

I repeat: HHHHEEELLLLPPPP....

Thank you.

How are lights on the CIC card aligned?
What Browser are you using?
I noticed that you setup the IP,MASK,DNS,how about the gateway?
What is your telephone number?
Instruction=
Discount the USB cable
Connect your ethernet cable

Jeff,

Thanks fo the reply.

It turns out that the conflict was occurring with a browser plug-in ("Free Download Accelerator"). I have had that thing installed and working well with my IE browser for about a year, and never a problem like this. I thought to disable it after I tried browsing from another machine on the LAN, and was able to log in to the RPM. So then I disabled the "FDA" on my computer, and I was also able to reach the box correctly.

Yes, I had set the gateway, and the card is the c5 (according to the pictures). SN E150402PA937.

Another thing that worried me is that when I unpacked the unit, there was a screw missing on the right side of the interface card, so it was a little loose. Now that I see the connector, I doubt that was enough to do any damage, though.

The docs are OK, but rather than telling me something like "after you fill in all the information, click OK" it would be nice to have a brief explanation of what each piece of information IS. (Not taking the time to find examples now).

Thanks.

By the way, This still does not explain why the "ARP" -type setup didn't work in the first place. That had nothing to do with my browser. When that didn't work, I had very little reason to suspect my browser, because I already knew there was some other problem (still not explained or resolved).

The MAC address label says: 00-06-18-00-0d-7a. I think I saw that that number is correct, after I was able to log in.

OnAir,
Your statement:

Yes, you are correct the ARP only works one time. Once you get in to the Web Browser page and you have set the card via the web then the ARP command is disabled.

Pg. 9 discusses the requirements for installation.

Yes, but the ARP setup was the FIRST thing I tried.

When I finally got in by USB, the unit had some completely different IP assigned.

All of that, plus the missing screw, makes me wonder if this was a brand new unit when it arrived.

OnAir,
