A customer has complained that his MBK520 gives 115 volts output on ac but when on battery only provides 85 Volts. We tested a new MBK680 when fully charged and found that when working on battery the output is only 85 Volts. Please advise.

Kathy Esquivel,
The MBK series has a simulated sine wave output. To properly measure the output voltage of any UPS with a simulated sine wave, a True RMS voltmeter must be used. If a True RMS voltmeter is not used then the voltage that is measured will be incorrect (85Vac). When using a True RMS voltmeter the voltage will read 115Vac.
