MINUTEMAN® UPS Announces MN™ Series Line Of Small Uninterruptible Power Supplies
MN 325 and MN 525 Provide Solid, Low-Cost Power Protection Carrollton, Texas - June 10, 2003 - MINUTEMAN UPS announced a new line of high-quality, competitively priced Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) designed to protect small to medium-sized business telecom and data processing applications, as well as home office/small office computers. The MINUTEMAN MN™ Series UPS models provide comprehensive protection in a small, economical package. Each unit protects connected equipment from utility AC blackouts, brownouts, spikes, and surges. The MN 325 is a 325 VA / 185 Watt unit that features two (2) receptacles with both battery backup and surge protection and two (2) receptacles with surge-only protection, and the unit can easily be mounted on the wall to save space in tight quarters. The slightly larger MN 525 is a 525 VA / 275 Watt unit that features three (3) receptacles with both battery backup and surge protection and three (3) receptacles with surge-only protection. The MN Series was designed with block transformer spacing in mind to accommodate AC adapters for multiple devices simultaneously. Both units handle up to 500 Joules of surge energy from a lightning strike or AC power surge. In addition, both MN units feature a single inlet for an incoming modem/fax line that provides two (2) protected outlets to connect to a modem and standard telephone or fax machine. This added protection allows the units to prevent surges and spikes from entering a PC via phone lines. "Our customers wanted a solid, feature rich UPS with a high surge energy rating, transformer spacing, and a small package," said Rick Hunteman, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for MINUTEMAN UPS. "The MN 325 and MN 525 products address all of these customer needs at a very competitive price without sacrificing product quality." Each unit also ships with a copy of MINUTEMAN PowerCenter™ software that provides basic power monitoring, scheduled shutdown functions and unattended shutdown of Windows-based PCs. The software also automatically saves open documents to a temporary directory on the computer's hard drive before shutting down the system. The latest version of this software is available for download from the MINUTEMAN UPS Web site at www.minutemanups.com. Both MN Series models include a free, industry-leading three-year parts and labor warranty on all electronics and a two-year warranty on internal batteries. Properly connected equipment is protected for up to $25,000 on the MN 325 and for up to $40,000 on the MN 525 by the MINUTEMAN Platinum Protection Plan®. Full specifications and data sheets for the new MN™ Series models are available on the MINUTEMAN UPS Web site at www.minutemanups.com. The company also offers a free Web-based UPS sizing tool at www.sizemyups.com for companies who would like to determine which MINUTEMAN MN™ units (or other MINUTEMAN UPS models) can best meet their power protection needs. Estimated retail prices are $49 and $69 for the MN 325 and MN 525, respectively. About MINUTEMAN UPS |
